Choosing your master’s degree in Energy and Sustainability
The energy sector is vibrant and the need for talented graduates keen to make a difference to climate change and the drive to net zero in this discipline remains strong. At Cranfield, we create leaders in technology and management. All our technical master’s include some element of management know-how, so that we create well-rounded postgraduates able to excel in their chosen business sectors. Our unique group project is a key component of learning about project management in small teams and is common to all our MSc courses.
Our specialised are principally engineering or science-based. They are designed for engineering, technology and management careers in the energy and power sectors. At Cranfield you will study essential management aspects of your subject through lectures as they relate to managing technology pipelines, financing technology investments or to new regulations, for example. Our postgraduates typically progress to become expert technologists in business or government or may progress to research careers.
One of the choices you have when choosing an Energy and Sustainability MSc is to select the balance between the engineering/technology components, and the management components in the taught part of your MSc curriculum.
Many of our Energy and Sustainability courses include the ‘Engineering Project Management’ module, and our Renewable Energy MSc offers a specific management-focused study route.
Our Careers and Employability Service plays a pivotal networking role across the University, working closely with students, staff and potential employers to enhance student employability skills and their career opportunities. We also offer our alumni a lifelong continuation service for their career development.
