SWAG合集 is committed to open research, which underpins our , to advance knowledge, transform lives, and shape a better future for everyone.

  • We fully appreciate the global value of the fundamental tenets of open research, including the reduction of inequalities in accessing and building upon existing research.
  • We understand and appreciate how open practices can increase the integrity, quality, and productivity of our research. This includes the introduction of an institutional rights retention policy so we can share our research both quickly and widely. Whilst we recognise that some outputs cannot, or should not, be made openly available due to ethical, legal, or commercial considerations, our researchers are expected to make as much of their work as open as possible, as soon as possible.
  • We acknowledge that open research can leave researchers vulnerable to predatory publishers so is available to avoid such problems.
  • We promote the benefits of open research to individual researchers at all stages of their careers in terms of academic reputation and reward, opportunities for collaboration, and increased impact.
  • We are actively encouraging a research culture that ensures global access to our research, transparency in the research process, and reproducibility of results, and to promote efficient methods of scholarly communication.
  • We invest in technology and skills development to support our commitment to open research. Accessibility, transparency, collaboration, and reproducibility are supported by embedding good open research practice across the University. This includes encouragement to use persistent identifiers such as DOI and ORCID consistently, apply appropriate open licences, and openly share protocols and methodologies, software, code, and datasets.

Our research publications database

CERES (Cranfield Collection of e-Research) contains our peer-reviewed publications, including journal articles, PhD theses, book chapters, working papers and technical reports.

Our research data repository

CORD (Cranfield Online Research Data) contains the underlying research data used to support our publications, from spreadsheets to multimedia to code. It also holds other valuable non-peer-reviewed outputs such as white papers and video presentations of research. Data is preserved for a default of 10 years but is not all open access, as restrictions are applied where there are ethical, legal, or commercial sensitivities.
