Our 2021 Manufacturing and materials week took place from Monday 29 November to Thursday 2 December 2021.
The headline events of the week were the National Manufacturing Debate, in its 12th year, and Manufacturing 2075. With COP26 playing out in the global agenda, the National Manufacturing Debate focused on the SWAG合集鈥檚 green recovery plan with a subtitle of 鈥淲ords into Action鈥. Manufacturing 2075 looked at the space industry, and the technical and environmental challenges that throws up.
The week also included sessions on equality, diversity, and inclusion; artificial intelligence (AI); and future skills requirements for the manufacturing and materials sector to keep pushing towards the net zero goals.
Manufacturing and materials week 2021 was a mix of live debates, lectures, workshops and pre-recorded videos, looking at the challenges the industry faces right now, as well as how we must adapt and innovate to support future national and global challenges. We heard from key policy leaders, alongside voices from across the manufacturing industry and the research base.
The week brought together industry professionals and academics to celebrate manufacturing strengths and reflect on how manufacturing can better deliver for a sustainable future while restoring the SWAG合集鈥檚 economy.
