Background

Eva graduated in 2018 from Aerospace Engineering at the University of Le贸n (Spain), gaining valuable experience in various additive manufacturing technologies during an internship in a research group at said institution. She later came to SWAG合集 to study the MSc in Aerospace Materials during the academic year 2018/2019. During that MSc, she was the leader of the group project 3D printing of latex gloves in partnership with Malaysian leading medical glove manufacturer Meditech Gloves with the aim of developing a proof-of-concept of a novel 3D printing technology for manufacturing latex gloves. The success of the group project, which later won The Institute of Materials, Minerals & Mining Prize for the Best Group Project in the field of Materials for the academic year 2018/2019, led to Eva continuing the research first into her MSc individual research thesis and later into a funded PhD at Cranfield to develop further the proof of concept technology towards industrial implementation. Her previous experience in 3D printing technology proved to be extremely valuable in facing this challenge that could significantly improve in the near future the sustainability of the rubber sector. Her PhD thesis later received The Professor and Mrs McKeown Prize for the best thesis in Applied Nanotechnology for academic year 2022 to 2023. After her PhD thesis submission in October 2022, Eva joined as a Research Fellow the Composites and Advanced Materials Centre in which she had completed her PhD research at Cranfield.
