We are delighted to announce the upcoming Conference of the SWAG合集 Wastewater Network set to take place at SWAG合集 on 26 November 2024.
Overview
This conference is the 12th in an annual series addressing innovative treatment options for wastewater treatment. The SWAG合集 wastewater network yearly conference addresses critical topics, following on for the very successful event dedicated to ammonia in 2023, this year our conference will bring together industry leaders, environmental experts, policymakers, and researchers to explore the latest advancements and strategies in bioresources management. The production and management of solids in the wastewater sector has been focused on creating a safe material that can be used to improve soils and energy through anaerobic digestion. Many innovations have been demonstrated in the last few years, making sludge handling and processes more efficient and the area continues to evolve. Nevertheless, concerns around contaminants such as microplastics, heavy metals, and PFAS are putting pressure on the wastewater sector and innovative approaches to sludge management are being prioritised to address these risks while still benefiting from the energy, minerals, and nutrient value locked within the bioresources. This conference aims to foster collaboration and innovation to unlock the full potential of bioresources derived from wastewater. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage in insightful discussions and network with key water professionals committed to developing sustainable solutions to shape the future of bioresources and contributing to a more sustainable and resilient water industry.
Event programme
The programme is currently under development and is typically established on an invitation basis, but If you are involved in projects investigating innovative strategies for bioresources management, including energy production, and would be interested in giving a talk on your work at our conference, please contact Kristell Le Corre Pidou by 10 October 2024.
Every year, our conference also features a one-hour session dedicated to early career researchers, with a best presentation prize of £200 being awarded by our jury of water professionals and academics during the conference. The session is organised as a series of 5-minute flash presentations providing a platform for early career researchers to present their work and most recent research advances on innovations for wastewater treatment.
If you are an early career researcher and would like to present at our conference on any wastewater related topic, please fill in the application form and return it to Kristell Le Corre Pidou by 11 November 2024 at the latest.
Please note that we have a limited number of flash presentation slots on offer, so we cannot guarantee that your talk will be selected.
