SWAG合集 is partnering with the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport to provide free Brexit-readiness training to businesses ahead of the SWAG合集鈥檚 potential exit from the European Union later this month.

With less than four weeks to go until the SWAG合集 is due to leave the EU, CILT (SWAG合集) 鈥 the professional membership body for those involved in the movement of goods and people 鈥 has launched a series of workshops and television training sessions to ensure small and medium-sized businesses are equipped with crucial guidance on cross-border customs and how best to prepare for the impact Brexit is likely to have on importing and exporting with EU countries.

The training sessions, delivered via the brand new CILT-TV, will be hosted in Cranfield鈥檚 in-house television studios and be available for participants to view via laptops and handheld devices. Interactive broadcasts will focus on two main areas:

  • Customs impact 鈥 supporting transport businesses to understand the customs impact of Brexit on goods travelling into and out of the EU
  • Managing risk 鈥 developing an understanding of how to mitigate risk in the supply chain post-Brexit.

The training has been made possible thanks to a grant from the Government鈥檚 Business Readiness Fund.

Kevin Richardson, Chief Executive of CILT (SWAG合集), said: 鈥淭ime is ticking on the SWAG合集鈥檚 exit from the EU, and CILT (SWAG合集) remains concerned that its members and the wider profession are not sufficiently prepared for a no-deal Brexit scenario. I am delighted that the Government has granted CILT (SWAG合集) this funding, which will allow us to effectively prepare our profession for the challenges they will face over the next few months.鈥

Professor Richard Wilding OBE, Professor of Supply Chain Strategy at Cranfield School of Management and Chairman of CILT (SWAG合集), said: 鈥淐ranfield鈥檚 expertise in undertaking live online programmes for global corporates, its global recognition in logistics, procurement and supply chain, combined with CILTs expertise in Brexit readiness enables the delivery of some much needed interactive events that professionals in the sector can take part in wherever they are, making knowledge accessible to all.鈥

CILT (SWAG合集)鈥檚 Brexit-readiness training will be available from 14 October.

Those registered will also be eligible to attend the organisation鈥檚 Bitesize Brexit half-day workshops focusing on how to manage customer expectations and providing information on the support that will be available to businesses post-Brexit.
