Across the complete range of automotive and motorsport domains, including powertrain and chassis controls, the aim of this five-day intensive course is for you to study and learn about the powertrain and chassis control systems and then to propose new solutions based on future consumer requirements for reduced emissions, higher levels of vehicle safety, comfort and autonomy. The course will include lectures delivered by university lecturers and also key engineers from industry.

Course structure

The course will be delivered as lectures, supported by tutorials and in-class practice examples. All delegates will receive a Certificate of Attendance at the end of the course.

What you will learn

On successful completion of this module you'll be able to:

  • Critically evaluate the physical configuration of a vehicle sub-system and be able to formulate new control design solutions appropriate for integration within a vehicle.
  • Appraise a set of vehicle performance targets for higher levels of automation and safety, more energy conservation and less environmental impacts and be able to select the most appropriate control methods and design techniques to meet the vehicle specification.
  • Analyse and evaluate the applications of artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques in vehicle control architectures.
