Keep it Sold Ltd helps its clients reduce unnecessary returns using an app installed on products and connected via the Internet of Things (IoT) to data storage in the Cloud.
Key facts
- The diagnostic data captured from the app provides transactional data to customers’ returns process and allows the analysis of usage and faults for input into future product design and the service supply chain.
- Keep it Sold can provide a diagnostics app for white and high-value brown goods, and our technology has the potential to assist the after-sales process for any connected device.
- The R&D project, funded through IMAGE, enabled Keep it Sold to work closely with Cranfield on the analysis of available technologies in IoT, data analytics and similar areas with a view to evaluating the maturity of these areas and building an understanding of future developments.
- Funded by IMAGE programme which is part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund
Impact of our research
The R&D project, funded through the IMAGE programme, enabled Cranfield to work closely with Keep it Sold on the analysis of available technologies in IoT, data analytics and similar areas with a view to evaluating the maturity of these areas and building an understanding of future developments. This was followed by prototype development, validation and the development of a user manual.
The project has fulfilled its target by developing a working prototype to collect data about the health of consumer products (using a mobile phone as in the case study) and creating a database that can be accessed remotely by multiple stakeholders.
The project has enabled the development of a prototype that will help Keep it Sold find a client sponsor to test the idea in a live consumer product.
Why Cranfield?
Cranfield had the right expertise to help Keep it Sold with their project idea for the potential that the integration of AI, IoT and digital services has within the IT and consumer electronics market sector.
