As we come towards the end of another academic year, we wanted to take this opportunity to say a big ‘thank you’ to all our alumni volunteers. Through your willingness and enthusiasm to help Cranfield, you have helped to enhance the student experience, inspire the next generation of leaders and innovators to pursue their studies at Cranfield, and kept our global Cranfield alumni community connected and thriving.

“Cranfield is enormously grateful to our worldwide community of alumni and friends who give time and energy in support of the University. You are our greatest advocates and ambassadors, and the work that you are doing is making a substantial difference to Cranfield’s present and future.”

Professor Sir Peter Gregson FREng MIRA, Chief Executive and Vice-Chancellor, SWAGºÏ¼¯.

Staying connected
This year we’ve been delighted to see even more International communities being set up around the world. We now have alumni communities in over 35 global locations, and over the last year our International presidents and alumni volunteers have organised a wide range of events in their areas – from networking opportunities and informal meet-ups, to informative webinars and lectures. The challenges and disruptions we’ve faced since the beginning of 2020 have made it more vital than ever to find new ways to stay in touch, and it’s filled us with pride to see how our alumni community has pulled together to stay connected and offer each other support.

We’re looking forward to celebrating our International communities in September with our annual Worldwide Alumni Celebration (WAC)! Make sure you keep an eye on our events page to be the first to hear about WAC events happening in your area.

“One of the great aspects of the alumni network is that it brings together people from different fields with different professional backgrounds – so there is always something interest to learn.”

Jens Krüger (MSc Logistics and Supply Chain Management 2008)

Inspiring and supporting current and prospective students
Our alumni are our greatest advocates and, by speaking to both current and potential students, our volunteers have made a huge difference when it comes to inspiring the next generation of Cranfield students.

We’re hugely grateful to all our volunteers who have attended recruitment fairs, shared their experiences, and participated in our virtual open days over the last year. Not only have you helped us to continue to attract the best and brightest students to undertake their studies at Cranfield, you’ve also helped to continue to enhance Cranfield’s international reputation so that we can continue to nurture future talent and develop solutions to key global challenges.

We’re also thrilled to have launched our Career mentoring programme this year – it’s been fantastic to see members of our alumni community volunteering their time to provide guidance and support to our students, who will benefit hugely from your expertise.

Keeping the conversation going

“The MBA would not have been the same experience without the people. That close alumni network is the best thing that happened to me. I know that if I have a question – whether it’s personal or business – I have people to ask, I have people to call.”

Eyal Ben-Cohen (MBA 2004)

Conversation is a key part of community, and it’s been great to see our alumni making the most of opportunities to stay connected and keep the conversation going over the last year.

From sharing your memories, insights and achievements with us via social media and nominating your classmates for our Alumni Awards, to reaching out to each other via our LinkedIn groups, attending our virtual events and sparking insightful debates during the Q&As – we’ve loved being able to stay in touch with you all.

Thank you for your support!
Getting involved, staying connected with Cranfield and volunteering your time has such a positive impact – and we’re incredibly grateful for all of your support over the last year.
