Background

Tazeeb Rajwani is a Visiting Professor at Cranfield School of Management. He is also a Chaired Professor of International Business and Strategy and Head of Department of Strategy and International Business at University of Surrey. Previously he was Professor of International Business, Director of Postgraduate Programmes, Director of Executive Education and member of the Senior Management Team at University of Essex.

He has also been Associate Professor (Reader) in Strategic Management, Director of Executive MBA and Director of Creating Strategic Advantage (CSA) Executive Programme at Cranfield School of Management. He has been a Director of Strategy at a high-tech start-up, where he still holds an advisory board position. He has also been a member of several technology and infrastructure investment boards.

Prior to these roles he held a management position at KPMG Corporate Finance, where he was an Innovation Champion and member of the Thought Leadership group at KMPG Europe. He also holds or has held visiting faculty positions at University of Oxford, London Business School, Kings College London, University of Warwick, ALBA (Greece), EM Lyon (France), University of Notre Dame, Strathmore University (Kenya), ESMT (Germany), University of Anahuac (Mexico), Royal Holloway (University of London), Hult International Business School (London), Swiss Hotel Management School (Switzerland) and University of Nottingham.

He has previously studied at the University of Surrey, University of Nottingham, University of Cambridge (Visiting PhD scholar) and has a PhD from Imperial College London. He is also an active member of SWAG合集 India Business Council, Strategic Management Society, Academy of International Business, and Academy of Management. He is Fellow of Royal Society of Arts (FRSA), Fellow of Higher Education Academy (FHEA), Member of the World Economic Forum (WEF) expert network, Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute (FCMI) and has been a board member for their Learning strategy panel.

Current activities

A world leading researcher on geopolitics, Tazeeb conducts award-winning research into business-government relationships in emerging markets. His research focuses mainly on corporate political activity, nonmarket strategy, competitive advantage and CSR. He has written over 50 books, book chapters, thought leadership reports and white papers, including articles in prestigious refereed journals such as Organization Science, Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of World Business, Academy of Management Perspectives, Journal of Management Studies, Global Strategy Journal, Management International Review, Groups & Organizations Management, Strategic Organization, British Journal of Management, Journal of Business Ethics, International Journal of Management Reviews, Organizational Dynamics, Business Horizons, Journal of International Management, International Business Review and European Management Journal. His research has been reported in the press, including the BBC, The Times, Irish Times, Forbes and Financial Times. He has published a highly acclaimed book contracted by Oxford University Press on 'Aligning for Advantage: Competitive Strategies for the Political and Social Arenas' and a companion on 'Nonmarket strategy' with Routledge press.

He serves as Associate Editor for Multinational Business Review and Associate Editor for Journal of International Management, editorial board member of the British Journal of Management, Long Range Planning, Irish Journal of Management and Journal of World Business. He is a frequent reviewer for leading management journals such as Organization Science, Journal of Management Studies, Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of World Business, Global Strategy Journal, Strategic Organization, Long Range Planning, Management International Review and International Business Review. His article in International Journal of Management Reviews (with Steve McGuire and Thomas Lawton), 'Corporate Political Activity: A Literature Review and Research Agenda,' won the annual Elsevier Citation Prize.
