Background
Dr Grant is a native from the state of Kansas and has followed in the steps of his family in serving in the US Navy as an Air Traffic Controller onboard the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Carl Vinson CVN 70. Post military service, Grant continued his journey by championing sales leadership roles in the multi-family apartment community throughout the San Francisco Bay Area before following his true passion for the sea in the cruise industry.
With over 20+ years of selling and sailing across oceans, Grant has served most years working onboard cruise ships and shore side service in leadership roles in sales, operations, and revenue divisions. He launched the first modern luxury retail travel sales centres at sea with Celebrity Cruises and Royal Caribbean International generating annual revenues of more than $700M annually. He also launched the cruise industry鈥檚 first office of Diversity and Inclusion for the Royal Caribbean Group of family brands selling the most important concept internally in the importance of their own people.
He is the is the first member in the travel and tourism industry to graduate both the MSc Leading Sales Transformation and becoming the first Doctor of Professional Studies in Sales Transformation both through the Consalia Sales Business School and Middlesex University.
Research opportunities
Living in London, Grant continues his sales career by leading the international regions of Royal Caribbean in continuous sales transformation and development. Grant is a Founding Fellow of the Institute of Sales Professionals, a Fellow of the Institute of Training & Occupational Learning (ITOL) and is an I.L.M Certified Sales Transformation Coach.
As the founder of SCARED SO WHAT Ltd, and SCARED SO WHAT RESEARCH FOR CHANGE C.I.C., he leads the vision and purpose in helping people learn how to manage personal change for themselves and others through the pioneering Personal Change Management (PCM) model, app technology and certification offerings.
He is passionate about the sales career pathways and champions his research in the sales and change management arenas fostering transformational leadership development combined with inclusive PCM and continued research to advance peoples critical reflective thinking and success outcomes.
Current activities
Serving as chief researcher for continued Personal Change Management, he also contributes to CED Programmes and delivering sessions for the Open Strategic Sales Leadership and or the Strategic Negotiation programmes. As well as, serving guest lectures to both the MSc Strategic Marketing (Sales and Key Account Management modules), the MSc in Management and Leadership programmes.
