Background
Susie Bloodworth-Race has an MEng in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Bath, followed up with an MSc in Explosive Ordnance Engineering (EOE) from Cranfield Defence and Security.
Susie is researching her PhD with Cranfield Forensics Institute entitled 'Blast mitigation within constrained mass-volume envelopes', which examines possibilities for reducing blast induced mild traumatic brain injuries by incorporating a further energy absorption layer into helmet design. Her areas of interest in the topic are 3D printed structures, materials science, and shock physics.
